In which I steal a tag from ten years ago (again...)

Unrelated beautiful photo
I seem to be making a habit of this...but old tags are just so fun!

I saw this post a few days ago when trawling through blog archives from years ago (I don't spend all my time doing that, promise!). I thought it would be fun to fill out the questions myself, because homemaking and anything related is almost as good as borrowing other people's tags!

The Rules:

1. Thank the person who tagged you.
2. List five things that start with "when I grow up and have my own house..." (they can be true, or utterly ridiculous, whatever you feel like writing :-))
3. Tag one other person and let them know that you have done so.

I wasn't officially tagged, but it was from Miss March's blog that I found this tag.

Now, my list...

1. When I grow up and have my own house, I will have every last chore down on a timetable which I will stick to religiously. And of course, they will always get done.

2. When I grow up and have my own house, I will always prioritize the things that matter, and I will never skip a job so I have more time for sewing/reading/writing. Because I definitely never skip chores now.

3. When I grow up and have my own house, I will have enough time to make every one of my items of clothing, many of my husband's, lots of sweet matching dresses for my daughters, and wedding dresses on commission for all of my friends. In all the spare time I will have when I've completed my cleaning schedule.

4. When I grow up and have my own house, every last piece of linen/clothing will be beautiful ironed and spritzed with lavender water made from the lavender growing in my beautiful garden. Ironing pillowcases is, of course, to be prioritized over sweeping the kitchen floor. And of course I will have time to garden! Why on earth wouldn't I?!

5. When I grow up and have my own house, I will train my children up to do a large part of the housework and gardening so I have time to write a series of novels around my sewing and extensive music-making. Because, obviously, that is how Life Works.

I probably shouldn't tag anyone as I wasn't tagged. However, if Lizzie Hexam is reading this and you'd like to fill it in, Lizzie, that would be very fun, especially as you've mentioned homemaking on your blog before! And you, too, if you'd like to, Emi! And anyone else, if you're reading it. (How liberal I am with someone else's tag!)

  1. I certainly can't justly fault you for spending too much time reading through blog archives, since I have previously read Miss March's post for this too. xD I'm glad you stole it, since 'twas quite fun to see your answers. Of course it's possible to keep a perfectly tidy house, sew and iron all the family clothes, have a garden, and have plenty of relaxed time for hobbies. Why on earth not?? ;P

Thanks so much for thinking of me; I think I will just have to stow this away and fill it out myself...that would be very enjoyable! (And as it happens, I just tagged you for the Sunshine Blogger Award! https://starlightandsaucepans.org/sunshine-blogger-award-3/ )

Bertie Wooster: You look positively animated, Jeeves!
Jeeves: [straightening his jacket] I'm sorry, sir.

    2. You are very welcome! :D (And I look forward to filling them out!)
"Do you ever feel like throwing open the window and shouting that the world is a beautiful place, Jeeves?"
      "...no, sir."

  2. 😍Okay, this is exactly the kind of scribbly thing I like best, and a very, very enjoyable read ;) She says, popping out from a corner quite suddenly.... Thankyou for rescuing it from the depths of the archives for us ;)

😄Your Dream Home and mine sound distinctly related, oddly enough! Except that I had not thought to aspire to writing novels on the side of the matching dresses and the perfectly ordered house, and the kitchen floor ranks above ironing the pillowcases in mine😜

And for writing one up of my own.... Firstly, thankyou kindly, and second, you couldn't possibly have known, but I've been wanting to do something housekeeping related on my blog lately, and this fits the bill exactly!! So we shall see what comes of it ;) If spare minutes cooperate, of course, because they are much to be reckoned with, it seems😆

    1. You're welcome ;)

Yes, the kitchen floor is probably more important 😜. I don't know what the other members of the family would say if the floor was dirty and I replied, "But the pillowcases are ironed!"

Amazing!!! I hope you enjoy doing it...and that you have some spare time for anything, not just filling this in 😆. Life just seems to fill up sometimes...

    2. I think kitchen floors just are one of my pet quirks, seems more difficult to think when it's been too long it met a broom😂 And then, I don't know what I very often think of ironing pillowcases, so we simply each have our own thing we like just so, sounds like ;)

      :) Oh, I'm sure I will, thankyou!
Ahhh, that's what I'm having just now, actually, (a bit of time for me, I mean) and it's lovely to get to catch up a bit!
