Inklings // May 2025
Just a quick post before I leave for a couple of week's holiday... another Inklings post (check rules for linking up here).
This month's Inklings prompt is:
A stagecoach scene in book or film
This scene does feature a stagecoach:
and also a horse-drawn hearse:
so I thought it qualified!
I absolutely love this film. It's got a great plot, realistic characters with plausible backstories and character arcs, amazing music which I would and do listen to just because it's amazing music, and it's got almost no bad language/inappropriateness in it. I've watched it so many times, and I've loved it more on each rewatch. You can find a link to the whole scene here. (Just a warning: the film does have the occasional mild bit of bad language, and this scene features a few of those.)
As I said at the beginning of this post, I'm away for a few weeks, so if you decide to comment I won't be able to publish it straight away. Please do comment, though! I'd love to hear from you. Have you ever watched this film? Do you enjoy Westerns?
Ah yes, the horse-drawn hearse! This movie is due for a rewatch for me.
ReplyDeleteYes, same here! It's such fun.
DeleteGreat post, Cecilia!
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched "The Magnificent Seven", but it sounds very intriguing!
I do enjoy the occasional Western here and there - the ones that came out in the 40s and 50s are usually my favorite. :)
Do watch it! It's well worth it. The music is amazing, too.
DeleteWesterns aren't usually my cup of tea, either, but there are a few that I do like - which ones you enjoy?
"Tulsa" was one that I enjoyed... The old Disney "Zorro" series is quite good too. Does "Little House on the Prairie" count? 😂
DeleteHa, I think "Little House on the Prairie" counts! It's certainly more my style of Western than many 😂
DeleteI really should watch this at some point...I don't believe I've ever seen a Western, which is a little shameful! (Beyond a couple Western-inspired Star Trek episodes, that is - and I don't know that that counts. :P)
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen that many Westerns, either - they're not my favourite, usually. "The Magnificent Seven" is definitely good fun, though. (I've actually never watched Star Trek, but I want to, as it's so famous ;) )
