The Sweater Weather Tag
I've stolen a tag!! Honestly, everyone, where would you be without me to pinch other people's tags and hand them on to you? Though if your heart sank when you read that, don't worry, I won't tag anyone.
I found this one on Hamlette's blog. It's suitably autumnal, I think; I also found a lot of autumnal pictures because autumn's my favourite season!
Favorite candle scent?
Something zingy and citrusy that'll energize me, or something Christmassy like cinnamon. The really strong floral candles tend to give me a headache!
Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate?
Coffee in the mornings, tea very occasionally in the afternoons, and hot chocolate in bed while I'm reading (but only rarely).
What's the best fall memory you have?
Going camping in the New Forest, and watching the leaves falling from the trees and eating outside in the cold and dusk (well, it was dark really).
Best fragrance for fall?
Bonfires on a crisp, cool day.
Favorite Thanksgiving food?
Thanksgiving isn't a thing here, I'm afraid... but in terms of autumnal food, I like jacket potatoes, thick soups, and apple and blackberry crumble.
Most-worn sweater?
It varies from year to year. This year, so far, it's been an indigo sleeveless jumper I knitted out of super-chunky wool. It's really warm and snuggly! (And I can feel like a proper Knitter when I'm wearing it.)
Football games or jumping in leaf piles?
Sorry, but football is boring, so I'll go for leaf piles. (Except I don't like having to rake them all up again, so I'll pass on that. Maybe I'm boring too.)
Skinny jeans or leggings?
I don't wear either! Give me thick tights and a skirt every time!
Combat boots or Uggs?
Combat boots, though I don't have any!
Is pumpkin spice worth the hype?
Hmm, I've never had it! You tell me in the comments - do you think it's worth the hype?
Favourite fall TV show?
If you've ever watched the BBC series of Brideshead Revisited, you will know that there is no more autumnal TV show than that one.
What do you want to be for Halloween?
I don't do Halloween... however, if I were dressing up as anyone, I would go for Queen Elizabeth I of England. This is why.Hats or scarves?
Hats! Hats! Hats! I love them! Mainly because I always think I look like this:
even when I actually look like this:
What's your #1 favorite thing about fall?
And that's it! I won't tag anyone... but please let me know if you steal the tag from me so I can enjoy your answers.
What do you like about autumn? Do you like hats? What are your favourite autumn foods?
You've perfectly captured what it feels like to wear a hat vs. what it actually looks like. XD
ReplyDeleteThank you XD! It's just like that sometimes, isn't it?!
DeleteHey Ceclia!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore this tag... I may have to steal it myself... haha.
Also, Pumpkin Spice is SO worth the hype - especially in a latte!!
I love the chilly weather, colorful leaves, and the mysterious nature of autumn. It has such a Dickens vibe to it.
I LOVE hats. I actually collect vintage/vintage-looking hats for fun. I don't usually get a chance to wear them, but when I do, it is so fun.
My favorite autumn foods are: Pumpkin bread, my mom's chicken chili, and lentil soup with kielbasa.
Loved reading your answers!!
Ha, I shall love reading your answers if you do.
DeleteI must go and try a pumpkin spice latte! What's it like? I have to say that I would never have thought of the combination of pumpkin and coffee independently, but it's pretty popular so I ought to give it a go!
You've hit the nail on the head... Dickens is so autumnal in parts, isn't he? And HATS!! Collecting vintage hats - that has to be the coolest collection ever! Hats are just beautiful and very fun to wear. I have resolved, this autumn and winter, to take as many opportunities as possible to wear the two berets that are my limited hat collection XD
Mmm, all those foods sound so tasty! I'm hungry now... I have to get some pumpkins somewhere...
How to describe a PSL… creamy, warm, and a hint of pumpkin spice. It tastes less like coffee and more like dessert. Autumn in a coffee cup! :)
DeleteMmm... sounds delicious! I must get my hands on some!
DeleteOh, this was so cozy to read and made me long for cooler weather over here! (We're getting there. Slowly.)
ReplyDeletePumpkin spice? As in pumpkin spice lattes? Personally, I don't think it's worth the hype! 😂 I do love pumpkin in baked goods, though! I really must do some fall baking.
I love all your pictures--especially that last one!
It's such a cosy tag, isn't it? Is it still warm over there, then? It's been uncharacteristically cold over here for September, so perhaps we need a happy medium in both countries ;)
DeleteOoh, baking... I must do some too! I feel like I should try a pumpkin spice latte as I've now heard both points of view XD!
I'm glad you liked it - it seemed such an autumnal word.
Where I live, the weather waffles between warm and cool usually all September before finally settling into fall. So a happy medium sounds agreeable indeed!
DeletePerhaps you should! Maybe I haven't had any good ones (which sounds very bad of me to say, since I work as a barista XD).
Yes, it is! Certainly a word to tuck away for future use :D
Ah, I get you! It varies here, but it's usually fairly autumnal by now.
DeleteOh, being a barista sounds fun... do you also get free coffee?
I love this! :D
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm glad!! Autumn's a great season, isn't it?
DeleteWhy look at you, breaking stereotypes and preferring coffee to tea ;P I'm the same; I'll enjoy tea sometimes in the afternoon or evening, but coffee in the morning is an essential!
ReplyDeleteNow, I'm curious...what are jacket potatoes? Are they just potatoes still in their 'jackets,' or is there a special way of cooking them? (And you are correct. Football is boring. :P)
Regarding pumpkin spice, I think it really depends. Pumpkin spice coffee I don't love, but I have had pumpkin spice candy which was absolutely delicious.
I hope you're having a lovely start to your autumn! We've been getting some deliciously cool mornings and some leaves are just starting to turn :D
Ha, I know... I've taken to drinking coffee from a cup and saucer occasionally, which is eccentric, but otherwise I don't get the pretty cups ;D Coffee is just an integral part of the morning, isn't it?
DeleteJacket potatoes are simply when you cook big potatoes still in their skins (and I think we normally pierce the skins in a couple of places so they don't explode). They are so tasty, especially with grated cheese and salad. What are some of your favourite autumnal foods? (Yes, I do not get the hype about any aspect of football).
I am actually going to try something pumpkin spice as soon as possible, having heard such different things about it ;)
Same to you! It's the best season... some leaves here are beginning to turn, too, and it'll soon be cool enough to pile on the layers...
No, that sounds ingenious! Why *shouldn't* we get to use pretty cups for coffee too? :D
DeleteOkay, that's pretty much what I was thinking...we're boring and just call them baked potatoes over here. :P Hm, let me think...I like thick rich stews, with beef and tomato or pumpkin or something. And I love pumpkin bread, though I rarely have any. (I guess this tells you that although my thoughts on pumpkin spice are mixed, I do like pumpkin itself!)
It is the best season...it's just so lovely! <3
Yes, exactly, why not?! Especially as designated coffee cups seem to be boringly plain and white.
DeleteMmm, those sorts of foods are lovely! I don't think I've ever had pumpkin bread... I must make some! (Heh, I guessed! I need to try some different forms of pumpkin as it's been years... maybe pie or pumpkin pasties would be a good place to start?)
